I think that technology played a positive role to the rise of the Arab Spring. In fact, technology played a tremendously huge part on the overall impacts of the Arab Spring. For instance, the CIA was able to envisage the episodes that happened in Egypt due to the massive amount of movements on social media platform such as Twitter and Facebook. The role of the social network and technology make possible the communication between the demonstrators. I think social media's role during the Arab spring was positive for the government because not only did social media a significant role for anti-government arrange and demonstrators but it was also utilized by governments to avoid their hold on their civilian. I think the governments of these countries played an efficacious role by maneuvering their civilians in order to ensure stability and harmony. I think social media should be scrutinized closely by governments in order to have a stronger grip on their citizens so violent uprisings cannot occur. In general, the main root causes of the Arab Spring was the revolution that took place in Tunisia of Mohamad Bouazizi on 18 December 2010 of corruption and the horrific treatment has shaken tyrannical leaders across the Arab world in Libya, Egypt, Bahrain, and Tunisia. The government treated Mohamad Bouazizi heinously and ruthlessly which let him to blaze him on fire. Proposing a new law for Somaliland

Somaliland should make chewing Qat illegal. It is extremely important to stop chewing Qat. Qat is an intoxicating substance that is deleterious to you. Qat is a treacherous drug that makes the person physically and mentally sick. In fact, it is indispensable to make chewing illegitimate because it a hazardous drug to the World that also sabotages our community. Furthermore, most teenagers in Somaliland like to do this atrocious and peculiar habit and therefore Qat should be banned completely.

Chewing Qat has an enormous amount of negative connotations such as it is a complete wastes a time and money. It damages your mind and it tremendously diminishes your economy. In addition to that, it has declined Somaliland’s economy drastically. People in this country eat Qat for two reasons; for instance, suppose that one person has a lot of work to do thus he eats the Qat to complete the task efficiently and actively. On the other hand, another person eats Qat to just relax and enjoy it. These two purposes are conspicuously unrelated and they are in fact way different.

In addition, chewing Qat sometimes leads to malnutrition; it also leads to family problems. For those who eat Qat it has a horrific influence to them.  Qat leads to bad sanitation as well which triggers filthiness. Once the person starts this heinous behavior he/she is dirty whether it is physically or mentally. Qat also leads to dearth of sleep. For example, suppose if a person enjoys eating Qat all the night then probably he/she do not have an adequate amount of time to sleep which is a complete calamity.

This new law will be implemented by shrinking the amount of trade between Somaliland and Ethiopia. Mainly because Ethiopia is the place that Qat is harvested but most people in Ethiopia do not eat Qat. They only trade it in order to attain better economy. They are thinking logically so we better act locally, while thinking globally.

Ultimately, chewing Qat is a horrendous habit which damages hundreds and thousands of people to lose their lives. Chewing Qat is taking a risk because you can die in it. All in all, if the government prevents this grotesque incident that is happening in the country then I think Somaliland would be in a good shape. The government should really address this dilemma immediately because it can ruin the entire economy of Somaliland. Somaliland is deteriorating because scandalous and hideous matter like this is really devastating the esteem of the country. I believe that a tiny and small issue can lead to a humongous and disastrous issue and thus should be prevented. Minor issues can sometimes have a huge impact on the people which require meticulous attention.

Somaliland elections

For the most part, Somaliland elections were not democratic. Although, the elections come at a significant stage in Somaliland’s political development, however they were prejudiced and biased. This is mainly because there was corruption and nepotism. You can see a person who is voting 5 times which is completely not allowed. Almost everyone was voting for the candidate from his clan but no one was thinking about the common good of everybody. This is one of the major obstacles that exist in Somaliland and blocks Somaliland from getting recognition from the world. Somaliland elections were chaotic and most people were not following the rules in laws in the constitution.

 Almost every candidate was struggling for power but that does not necessarily mean to break rules. Although corruption happens almost every place around the world but the candidly speaking the one in Somaliland is a bit extreme. People in Somaliland are trying to get recognition from the world but if they do not stop this continuing turmoil and crises then the probability that Somaliland will get recognition from the world will be dramatically low.

At first, I was very eager and enthusiastic that I will be voting but when I saw those grotesque and horrendous actions (corruption) going on, I extraordinarily changed my mind and decided not to vote. What was happening was totally unacceptable and in fact I was very disappointed. In addition to that, the people who were working in the election places knew some of the people who were voting and thus allowed them to vote as much as they want which is not how the election process works. The election process should have extreme laws and limits so that people would not do something they are not supposed to do.

The place was literally overcrowded and most people were yelling and screaming. There were approximately 100 people in each row and there were 3 rows in total. Even some dude who was back of the line tried to cut the line and fortunately he did and that was not what I was expecting. A random rude came to us (me and my friend) and told us that we should vote for a certain candidate and because of that he is going to pay us. That was honestly one of my most bizarre and awkward moments in life. I was basically perplexed and bewildered by the ambivalence of my feelings. Anyways, my friends and I talked for a while and I specifically told him that the money he (the dude) is paying us will not last forever and that we should think the common good of everybody and our country. Consequently, my friend and I did not vote because of the weird incident that happened.

Ultimately, I think the best way to avoid this from happening is to be fair and honest. The citizens should show some morality and integrity to their country because such scandalous and hideous issues like this is really devastating and deteriorating the prestige of the Somaliland. All in all, the government should address this dilemma as soon as possible before the whole country ruins. Internet Censorship eradicates Freedom of Expression

Almost every country around the world believes in internet censorship therefore block certain websites that will affront a country or put in harm to someone. Internet censorship has some positive and negative connotations; some countries believe that internet is beleaguered with garbage and therefore should be censored. On the other hand, others believe that internet censorship should remain free and open and therefore never be censored. However, recent days most people around the world consider that internet censorship is too extreme. Internet censorship is a highly controversial topic, especially with people looking to protect free speech.

Furthermore, freedom of expression is one of the most essential things in the world. It is the right to express any opinions without censorship, restraint or even limitation. However, it should be a field of offending or attacking someone. In any case, freedom of expression offers us the opportunity of sharing our thoughts and ideas throughout the world. For example, in the novel 1984, the citizens do not have any right at all to say something about the government which portrays that the government is unscrupulous and not doing its duty. Thus, I do not believe in internet censorship because it is a departed issue and it threatens freedom of speech.

However, in here I want to converse the case of Eskinder Nega. Eskinder Nega is a journalist in Ethiopia who has recently been jailed for expressing his thoughts in the Ethiopian government. He has been sentenced to eighteen years in prison for and has been accused of being a terrorist. Eskinder Nega is a journalist who was arrested for speaking against the government in his blog. As a journalist his license was invalidated thus he was not able to print his magazines and newspapers. Journalists have a right to amend their ideas into words and put on a paper. They can discuss on their newspapers everything that pleases them. The government has no right at all to tyrannize them, whether it arrests them or withdraws their license. In addition, Ethiopia is an example of countries where the internet censorship is dramatically high. In fact, Ethiopia became one of the countries where its citizens/journalists get arrested if they share their ideas and perspectives in the internet.

I think Censorship in the Internet should have laws and limits. It is totally unnecessary to arrest citizens just because he/she wrote about the government. I think arresting Nega was not fair because he was only sharing his opinion and everyone should have the right to say something as long as it do not put someone in danger and that the government do not take away people’s freedom of speech. The people chose the government, thus if people do not tell their government what they are doing good and what they are doing bad then no one else will tell them which will be a complete pandemonium. I think that the laws of the internet should be up to the world organizations such as the ITU because it will be fair to every country and no country will grumble at all.

As an unrecognized country Somaliland faced a tremendous amount of dilemmas. During the time that Somaliland was not being acquainted with the rest of the world, it mugged some arduous struggles and strives in order to accomplish and gain recognition from the worldwide. A dream does not become reality through magic, in fact it takes dedication and determination. Thus Somaliland depicted some tenacity and integrity during its time of suffering and pain. Furthermore, without suffering there will be no compassion. Therefore, Somaliland should unity (act as one), work together and shows some kind of coherence. One of the major problems that Somaliland faced is deforestation. In fact, this is a real situation problem.

Deforestation is basically the idea of cutting down trees and plants for economical innovations and purposes. Mainly this is because the consumption of charcoal for creating fire. In addition to that, it is also utilized for formulating wood, thus wood can be made desks, tables and chairs. Nonetheless, according to Somaliland cutting down trees is often used for making charcoal, thus there is not that advantage in it after all.

Another major issue in Somaliland is soil erosion or over-grazing. Erosion is wide spread threats of environmental degradation and desertification, and the possibility that many species face extinction. Somaliland economy depends on livestock rearing, exporting and importing animals. Inconveniently, when the pasture vanishes drastically then it will be a massive problem to the pastoralists and there will be an enormous amount of suffering among the urban people.

Furthermore, dirty water triggered an incredible amount of infectious and contagious diseases among the Somalilander's. Thus, many people faced a huge disaster and misfortune. Many people got sick mainly because of these tropical diseases and sicknesses. Even, the species on the water such as fish will die because the water is polluted and contaminated. There will be an extreme extinction rated and things will deteriorate for the most part.

Some viable solutions to combat these issues include first avoiding deforestation and coming up with another alternative of making woods and charcoal. Second, planting more trees to prevent erosion, soil erosion is the removal of top soil. Top soil is the most fertile soil on earth and it has humus in it. Third, using clean water is very beneficial and it saves the lives of hundreds and thousands of people around the world. Drinking clean water is part of having clean sanitation and hygiene and that is one of the fundamental rules of having an organized community.

In conclusion, growing up in Somaliland some of the biggest setbacks that thwarted the country from being independent republic is unstable and chaotic elections that are happening regularly. For the most part, the government of Somaliland is corrupted with pandemonium and havoc. The idea of nepotism is very common and familiar in Somaliland and that is one of the major obstacles that avert Somaliland’s recognition. Additionally, violations occurring incongruously in the country is very hazardous and devastating the prestige and the degnity of the country.

Food in Addis

Addis Ababa has one of the most delicious and scrumptious foods in the World. Additionally, the food in Addis Ababa is delectable and simultaneously cheap. In Addis Ababa you can find a variety of foods such as Italian, American and Ethiopian food as well. In fact, the food there is welcoming and when I went there I didn't expect an appetizing food like that. The food there was pretty impressive and it attracted most of the eyes of the students. Most of the students were bewildered by the lavishness and cuteness of the food there. I hope I will have food like that in Somaliland in the future.
